It’s all about innovation at Aquatech Amsterdam and to place the innovations of our exhibitors in the spotlight we organise the Aquatech Innovation Awards.

At our Innovation Hub, all nominees will be displayed and every innovation which is submitted for the Aquatech Amsterdam Innovation Awards by an exhibitor will be part of the special Aquatech Amsterdam Innovation Route.

After we receive all the entries, an expert jury will select a line-up of the most innovative technologies. These nominees will receive global media coverage through our socials, website, mailings, and press releases.

The entries will be judged on 3 criteria

  • Originality (50%)
  • Practicality (technical, economical, feasibility, 25%)
  • Sustainability (environment, security, energy, efficiency, 25%)

Innovation Award Charity

The Innovation Award registration fees are contributed to Water for Life, serving as the global Aquatech community to give back to society. Founded in 2004, the Water for Life Foundation believes that everyone has the right to safe drinking water and sanitation. That's why they provide access to safe drinking water and sanitation to people in poor neighbourhoods in African and Asian cities. Water For Life works with local non-profit water utilities and public services.
 

Everyone deserves clean drinking water and a safe toilet!

Water is life. That is why the Water for Life Foundation works on drinking water and sanitation for 2 billion vulnerable people worldwide. The Water for Life Foundation is an initiative of Dutch drinking water companies. Through this collaboration, 100% of every donation goes to the projects and sustainability is guaranteed. With donations, the Water for Life Foundation installs water pipes and toilets (also in schools), installs public water taps and water connections in people's homes, and provides hygiene training.

Nijhuis Saur Industries about winning the Aquatech Community Award

"While winning this Community Award we got the attention of all the stakeholders. Because it is a new concept what will help making impact in the world." Nijhuis Saur Industries won the Community Award at the Aquatech Innovation Awards in 2021. 

Aquatech Innovation Award Overall Winner 2023

An autonomous robot that can help utilities map infrastructure and detect faults in drinking water pipes has been crowned the Overall Winner of this year’s Aquatech Innovation Award. The development by Submerge is a result of multiple stakeholders, including Vitens, Brabant Water and Evides.

Known as ‘Autonomic Inspection Robot – Submerge’, the robot can help to detect leaks, corrosions and even be used to map pipe networks to eventually help create a digital twin.

Overall winner Aquatech Innovation Awards

Aquatech Community Award 2023 goes to...


For the secod time in the history of the Innovation Award, the Aquatech Community Award was organised. Next to the official Jury, water tech professionals voted for their own favourite innovation – the popular vote. The nominee with the highest number of votes is Sanipur for 'Zero.B', they are the winner of the Aquatech Innovation – Community Award.
