Nijhuis Saur Industries finalises Mobile Water Solutions division after Veolia acquisition
Building an industrial water reference player: Nijhuis Saur Industries finalises Mobile Water Solutions
Nijhuis Saur Industries continues full steam ahead with its plan to become one of the biggest reference players when it comes to industrial water treatment.
Meeting challenging requirements
Nijhuis Saur Industries continues full steam ahead with its plan to become one of the biggest reference players when it comes to industrial water treatment.
The French company has now finalized the group’s acquisition of Veolia’s European Mobile Water Services division.
The deal follows anti-trust commitments made by Veolia to the European Commission following concerns surrounding the historic merger with Suez merger from 2021.
The deal was approved pending proposed corrective measures to the agreement and the implementation of antitrust remedies.
A growing need for on-demand water solutions
It was in June 2020 when Aquatech Online covered Saur’s acquisition of Nijhuis, as part of its Initiative 2023 strategic project to build a reference player in the industrial water treatment space.
Speaking to Aquatech Online at the time, Menno M. Holterman, CEO and president of Nijhuis Saur Industries, commented that the deal was “extremely fast-tracked”.
Speaking on the recent acquisition, Holterman said: “By combining the strengths of NSI's existing mobile wastewater treatment fleet with the experience of the newly rebranded Mobile Water Solutions, we can now offer our industrial customers an expanded and innovative mobile fleet that boosts their ability to forecast and plan for the quantity and quality of water available from water resources.”
Earlier this year in May, Nijhuis announced the acquisition ambition for Veolia’s European Mobile Water Services, as part of a strategy to build, through acquisition a reference player in the industrial market.
Nijhuis Saur Industries also partnered with Royal HaskoningDHV to drive the application of Nereda Technologies in the industrial wastewater treatment market.
Dominique Tassignon, CEO of NSI Mobile Water Solutions said the integration will enable the companies to tackle “the most challenging requirements” in the fields of industrial process water and wastewater treatment, reuse, resources recovery and municipal drinking and wastewater.
A combined offering
The former Mobile Water Services will now become Nijhuis Saur Industries’ Mobile Water Solutions division, the global mobile water services platform of Nijhuis Saur Industries (NSI).
The combined MWS fleet includes an asset base of around 500 mobile units, seven depots and multiple ion exchange regeneration stations and maintenance centers in Europe, where 50 million liters of resins are regenerated annually.
We can now offer our industrial customers an expanded and innovative mobile fleet.
MWS also employs more than 80 people in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Benelux, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Sweden and serves a range of industrial applications.
MWS customers will have access to water and wastewater treatment, including biogas, energy and resource recovery technologies available and the services of Saur Group's Industrial Water Services division.
